Carrot Seed Essential Oil, an earthy delight

Wild Carrot, aka Queen Anne's Lace

Carrot seed essential oil has been part of my skin care routine since I discovered the power of oils.  Earthy and complex, this oil is not used much in women’s perfumery, but it is amazingly healing for skin as well as internal organs.

In addition to skincare and therapeutic healing for things like gout and digestive disorders, carrot seed essential oil is wonderful to use on dry hair.  I use 5-7 drops per tablespoon of vegetable or nut oil and use an eye dropper to apply it to my scalp.  I just drag the eye dropper along from the front of my hairline to the back in several areas, then put a dropper full into my palms and massage the whole head and hair.  I try to do this on an evening I’ll be hanging out for several hours and can leave it in while I watch TV or surf online or read.  I’ll put a plastic bag around my hair to keep body heat in, making it a hot oil treatment.  Adding lavender, rosemary or palmarosa {which I’ll be posting about soon} adds to the benefits of keeping hair shiny, strong and promoting new growth.
